The ritual / One round a day
Curryillion's daily NBA trivia for people who already know the obvious answer
One round. Seven prompts. Twenty-four seconds each. The same board for everyone in the world, unlocked at midnight Eastern. It is the smallest possible basketball habit, and the only one that gives you a score worth arguing about.
Why a daily format beats a quiz you can binge
Daily games work because of a simple constraint: you get one. One round, one score, one conversation. The constraint creates the ritual — the same three minutes at the same point in the day, the same group chat comparing results, the same small decision about whether to play it safe or go hunting for a better answer.
Curryillion leans into that. The daily round is seven prompts, 24 seconds each, and it finishes in about three minutes. You cannot grind it, you cannot farm it, and you cannot buy extra time. You get your shot clock and your five tries, and then the box score is in the books.

Midnight Eastern, for everyone
A new round unlocks at midnight Eastern Time — the same fixed reset for every player, whether you are in New York, London, Tokyo or a bus somewhere with terrible signal. A fixed reset rather than a rolling local midnight keeps the game genuinely communal: for a few hours, everyone is playing the same board, and the score you compare at lunch is the score your friend played at breakfast.
The homepage countdown always shows exactly how long is left, and the result screen tells you when the next round lands. The game also carries a launch number — launch one aired on 7 November 2026 — so you can always look at a score and know which board it came from.
One logged round per day. The first daily round you finish is the one that counts towards your streak, your best and your daily history. Everything after that is practice, and practice is free.
What a daily round feels like
-
The board opens
Seven prompts, mixed across the categories: players, teams, hardware, college & draft, world stage, numbers and courtside lore. The first one arrives with a category tag and a read gate.
-
The clock starts
Twenty-four seconds. You type the first name you trust, or you gamble on the one that feels lonely. The input is already focused; the whole loop is type, enter, react.
-
The booth reveals
A tier, a number and a line of colour commentary. Layup +10, or One in a Curryillion +100. The reveal is the emotional beat of the whole game: it tells you how brave your answer was, not just whether it was right.
-
The box score closes
Seven reveals later you get a total out of 700, a hype band, your streak and a spoiler-free score line to share. Then the round is done — genuinely done — until midnight.
Streaks without the guilt trip
Finish a daily round and your streak goes up by one. Miss a day and it resets. That is the whole system. There is no streak freeze, no streak repair, no notification begging you to come back, and no purchase that restores it.
The streak is a ritual marker, not a retention trap. Curryillion does not send push notifications, because it is a website with no app and only one Google Analytics tag. The only thing that will remind you is the group chat, and honestly that is the better reminder.
The rest of your record lives in the logbook: best score, average, badges and every rare answer you have discovered. It is stored locally in your browser, which means it is private by default and portable only if you clear your own data. The privacy page explains exactly what is saved.
Daily, archive, practice: the difference
Three ideas, one prompt bank. The distinction matters because only one of them affects your record.
| Mode | Prompts | Affects streak / best? | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Daily round | Today's seven, same for everyone | Yes — one logged round per day | Unlocks at midnight Eastern |
| Archive | Any round that has already aired | No — fun only | Always open |
| Themed packs | Curated chapters from one category | No — fun only | Always open |
| Shootaround | Random batches of seven | No — fun only | Always open |
| Challenge | A friend's round from their link | No — fun only | Always open |
The spoiler-free culture
A daily game lives or dies on its sharing etiquette. Curryillion makes the etiquette easy: the result you copy is a score line and a row of tier glyphs, never the answers. The challenge link carries the day number and your score, so a friend can take the same board without having anything spoiled.
That is deliberate. Half the fun of a daily game is the conversation after it — which answer you took, which one you nearly said, how on earth the +100 answer was hiding in plain sight. None of that works if the link hands over the board.
"The score line goes in the group chat. The answers wait until everyone has played. That is the deal."

When does the daily NBA trivia game reset?
Curryillion resets at midnight Eastern Time. One fixed reset keeps the game fair: every player in the world is working on the same seven prompts at the same time, and the homepage countdown shows exactly when the next round unlocks.
Do I get the same NBA trivia prompts as everyone else?
Yes. The daily round is identical for every player, which is what makes scores comparable and challenge links fair. The themed packs and shootaround use the same prompt bank, but they are not synced to the day.
What happens if I miss a day?
Your streak resets to zero, but nothing is lost. Every round that has already aired stays open in the archive, so you can play the day you missed at any time without changing your daily record.
How long does a daily round take?
About three minutes. Seven prompts at 24 seconds each, plus a short reveal after every answer. Most players finish in two to four minutes.
Can I play more than one round a day?
Yes, as many as you like, but only the first completed daily round counts towards your streak and daily history. The archive, themed packs, shootaround and challenge links are always open for extra play.
Is the daily NBA trivia game free?
Yes. Every mode is free, with no account and no download. Curryillion runs entirely in your browser, saves your progress locally and loads no ads; its measurement scripts are Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics.
